Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a specialized treatment used for select wound conditions that are slow to heal.
What Is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
HBOT involves breathing 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber, which:
- Increases oxygen delivery to damaged tissue
- Stimulates new blood vessel growth
- Enhances the body’s ability to fight infection
- Accelerates wound healing
Conditions That May Benefit from HBOT
- Diabetic wounds resistant to standard treatment
- Radiation tissue damage
- Chronic refractory osteomyelitis
- Compromised skin grafts or flaps
- Certain severe infections
HBOT is provided under close medical supervision in a safe, controlled environment.
